Free Stall Space at the new Mansfield Market

The market stalls, which have been moved from Westgate to the new centralised location on Market Place, have been given new canopies and are now in place ready for business every Tuesday to Saturday.

Free stall space is available via the council’s Business Incubation Scheme for traders who can offer new product lines at the market.

Mansfield Market Place celebrated the launch of its £100,000 regeneration project with a full day of entertainment for visitors. The Council’s project was officially launched on Saturday, April 9, after months of development and planning.

With new and improved stalls, new layout and enhanced food court, the Market Place was a “buzzing hive” of activity with an array of entertainment to mark its relaunch.

Mike Robinson, director for economic growth, said: “We’re thrilled with the amount of people who came out to show their support for the new market and hope the public will continue to make Mansfield Market a prime shopping destination.

“We would like to encourage people to shop local, support our independent traders and help us to revitalise our town centre.”

As well as exciting events scheduled over the coming months, the council aims to breathe new life into the market to encourage shoppers back to the market town.

Mr Robinson said: “This is a great time to take a stall at the market, too – and for traders of new lines, they will get a year rent-free to help them build up their business.”

The highlight of the relaunch event was delivered by the self-proclaimed world’s best street entertainers – Covent Garden entertainment and the Levitating Wizard.
